Now it is Hajj 2014 over!. Many Hajis (Hujjaj) will remember Hajj 2014, either the first Hajj of their lives, or an additional Hajj. There would be many who have attended previous year Hajj. Now there are news updates coming on Hajj 2014! So here we let refresh memory of the Hajis of previous year! Let us remember once the Hajj of past year, the 5+1 days of Hajj 2013.
HAJJ 2013 (1434 H) was performed from 08 ZH 1434 H till 12 ZH 1434 H (Saudi Arabia: 13 Oct 2013 to 17 Oct 2013). Eid ul Azha @ 10 ZH was in Saudi Arabia on 15 Oct 2013. But in Pakistan, 10 ZH was on 16 Oct 2013, so in Pakistan, Eid ul Azha was observed on 16 Oct 2013.
Hajj Day # 1: 08 ZH 1434 H (13 Oct 2013 – Sunday):
Today is “Yum-e-Tarvia” (Day of Tarvia). More than 14,00,000 Muslims calling “Labbaik, Allah huma Labbaik” started gathering in their camps in Mina valley since last night. Mina is located 6 km away Makkah city in north east direction.
Today in Mina, they will offer (Fajar, if they reached last night) Zuhur, Asar, Maghrib and Isha prayers.
Total 58 tunnels to be used for transportation of Hajis (pilgrims of Hajj) and their access to holy places.
For security, 95000 troops were deployed. Fire extinguishers were installed in Mina camps. Helicopters also would perform security observations. Thousands of officers were deployed on roads to Mina to keep traffic flow continuous. Saudi Public security department arrested 1106 persons violating Hajj laws or incomplete authorized documents regarding Hajj.
Total 1,43,000 Pakistanis are performing Hajj 2013. They all reached to Saudi Arabia with 178 flights. President of Pakistan, federal minister of religious affairs and ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia are also performing Hajj.
Hajj Day # 2: 09 ZH 1434 H (14 Oct 2013 – Monday):
Today is “Yum-e-Arfa” (Day of Arfa), Hajis today traveled to Arafat (by train or by bus) to perform the greatest member of Hajj i.e. “Waqoof Arfa” (Stay in plain of Arfat). Jabal Rehmat (Mountain of Mercy) is also located in plain of Arafat.
Today they heard Hajj khutba (lecture) in Masjid Namra. Mufti Azam Sheikh Abdul Aziz delivered Hajj khutba in Masjid Namra. It was his continuous 33rd Khtuba Hajj.
After hearing Khutba, Muslims offered Salat of Zuhur and Asar in plain of Arafat. In the time between Asar and Maghrib prayer, Hajis performed “Waqof-e-Arfa” to ask prayers to Allah. At sunset, Hajis left plain of Arafat without offering Maghrib paryer. They then moved towards Muzdalifa for night stay and worship there. After reaching Muzdalifa, Hajis offered Salat of Maghrib and Isha in one session, then they picked pebbles and performed night stay, worshipped & prayed below open sky in Muzdalifa.
Cover of Khana Kaba was changed today. Today after Fajar prayer, Khana Kaba was bathed with Arq-e-Gulab and Zam Zam water, after which cover was changed. Cover of Kaba is 658 square meter, it consists of 47 parts; each part is 14 meter long and 95 centimeter wide. It was made with 670 kg pure silk, 150 kg gold and silver. Quranic verses are written on cover of Kaba describing respect of Kaba and blessing of Hajj. In the event of change of cover, Saudi officials, ambassadors of Muslim countries and Hajis participated. The pieces of old cover of Kaba were gifted to guests present at spot.
Hajj Day # 3: 10 ZH 1434 H (15 Oct 2013 – Tuesday):
Today is “Yum-e-Nahar” (Day of Sacrifice). It is Eid ul Azha for Muslims in Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries. Today Hajis passed a busy day. After Fajar prayer, they performed “Waqoof-e-Muzdalifa” (Stay at Muzdalifa for prayer and worship) and then returned to Mina to place back their luggage in Mina camp. Then they went to Jamrat to stone big Satan (they may also go directly from Muzdalifa to Jamrat depending on location of their Mina camp), sacrificed animals as thanks in Hajj (Sacrifice may be offered by Islamic development bank or self arrangements), and then shaved their head to open Ihram dress.
Now they may go to Makkah to perform Twaf Ziarat (though it may also be performed following day), they circled Kaba seven times, offered two nwafil at Maqam-e-Ibrahim, they performed Sae of Safa Marwa in memory of Bibi Hajira and then returned to their Mina camps.
Hajj Day # 4: 11 ZH 1434 H (16 Oct 2013 – Wednesday):
Today is “Yum-e-Rami” (Day of Rami). Today Hajis went to Jamrat to stone all three satans in Mina. Those Hajis who couldn’t perform Twafe Ziarat yesterday, they went to Makkah to perform Twaf-e-Ziarat. After Twaf-e-Ziarat, they then returned to Mina to pass night there.
Hajj Day # 5: 12 ZH 1434 H (17 Oct 2013 – Thursday):
Today is “Yum-e-Rami” (Day of Rami). Today Hajis again went to Jamrat to stone three satans in Mina. Then all Manasik Hajj (except Twaf-e-Wida, to be performed just before leaving Makkah) completed and return of Hajis to Makkah in their residences and hotels started today.
Note 1: But if any Haji today couldn’t leave Mina till sunset, then he will have to pass full night in Mina camp and will perform Rami (stoning of three satans in Jamrat) next day, after which they may return to Makkah.
Note 2: Those Hajis who couldn’t perform Twafe Ziarat even yesterday, today was their last chance to go to Makkah and perform Twaf-e-Ziarat around Kaba. Failing to do so would cancel Hajj.
Hajj Additional Optional Day: 13 ZH 1434 H (18 Oct 2013 – Friday):
Today is additional day for Rami (stoning of three satans in Jamrat), it is for those who did not leave Mina before sunset yesterday.
The Hajj completed yesterday and many Hajis returned to Makkah in their residences. Today all remaining Hajis left Mina and Manasik Hajj of all Hajis completed today.
